Big White Ski Resort has invested over 50 million
dollars in state of the art grooming equipment and an incredible expansion
in resort facilities. The highlights of this expenditure include a Leitner
eight passenger Gondola, the first of its kind in North America. A new tube park, the largest in Western Canada has with three chutes over 900 feet long and two lifts to the top.
The lifts at Happy Valley Tube Park have an uphill capacity of 600 people
per hour and the area is designed to be expandable.A large pond for ice skating with romantic skating paths into the surrounding
forested area have also been created for this new millennium. The ice surface
is maintained by a Zamboni ice machine ensuring ice quality. |

The gondola connects the village to Happy Valley Adventure Park, capable
of moving 3000 people per hour with skis and snowboards in the winter
and golf clubs and bicycles in the summer. Happy Valley Adventure Park,
the largest of its kind in Western Canada, is home to the Happy Valley
Golf Academy, and $29.1 million of resort accommodation including townhouses,
condominium-hotels, and chalets. "We are pleased to make this announcement
during the most successful season in the history of Big White Ski Resort."
commented Vice President, Michael J. Ballingall at the opening "We wanted
to add these features this summer so guests could continue to experience
different activities, after all, we are in the resort business and that's
all about showing people a good time." Big White Ski Resort has experienced
a record number of guests purchasing mountain resort real estate. Big
White Ski Resort Ltd announced developers have already secured land for
additional buildings.
